We are learning about the Victorians this term and have lots of exciting learning activities planned.

We visited Tredegar House and were put to work! We learned how to lay the table, polish the silver, clean the floors and even made pastry for Lord Tredegar!  Phew, it was hard work being a servant in Victorian times!

We have been reading Oliver Twist and getting into character by acting out scenes and even learning the art of pick pocketing!

We visited Big Pit in Blaenavon to find out what life was like in the mines.  We looked around the museum then put our hard hats on and ventured down into the mines.  It was very exciting!

We will soon be carrying out Science work investigating the properties of materials.  We enjoyed a visit from Techniquest which has wetted our appetite for more!

We recently went on a trip to St Fagans Museum of Welsh Life to look at homes through the ages (including Victorian Times).  We visited the Victorian School and sat at the desks and we also went on a material hunt around the museum.  Our foreign guests also came on the visit and gained an insight into what life was like in Wales in the past.
