Film Competition!

back

Pupils at Coryton entered a national competition to design a short film based on the theme 'Prejudice'.  Five children in Year 6 worked on their own idea for a film based on bullying.  They then found out that they had won!!  Their idea was made into an animated film to be shown in cinemas across Wales!!

The children were invited to the Croeso headquarters and a guided tour around the animation studios.

At the train station - an appropriate sign for the subject matter of their film! Looking at how animation puppets are made. Seeing how models are made.

Looking at some of the animation props used in Calon's programmes. Learning how backgrounds are added. A set for the company's animation 'Hannah's Helpline'

Inspecting a set. Watching an animation being made. And how it looks - work in progress.

Some of the stars of the show 'Hannah's Helpine' Holding our favourite characters. And a well-deserved ice-cream to finish the day.

The children were interviewed by HTV and recorded voice-overs for their own animation which was in the process of being made.

Watching the experts mix their voice-over.

At the creative hub!

Relaxing after their TV interview!

Upon completion of the film, the pupils and their parents were invited to it's premier shown at UCI in Cardiff Bay in July.  Well done Matthew, Immi, Sam, Ben and Cameron for a fantastic achievement.
